It is the middle of week one and I re- Read my copy of  The Blue Sweater , It is about Our Africa and a very Brave Lady who plays Gut’s Football-Put aside the fact that she is a great wordsmith her reference point is the beginning of her own life-it is a life that many Americans  lived  lot’s of guts -and a real family-her sense of worth seem to have been created by Space Time and Deity-I found the Acumen fund on my Squidoo page and there might have been a few Blurbs by  Seth Godin-The Founder of Squidoo-To Understand the Acumen Fund you must add THE BLUE SWEATER to  your Closet or better yet buy the book and Jacqeline Novogratz will let you learn how to wear one with Pride-and how to live on our mortal coil-

Mortal coil is a poetic term that means the troubles of daily life and the strife and suffering of the world. It is used in the sense of a burden to be carried or abandoned, most famously in the phrase “shuffle[d] off this mortal coil” from Shakespeare’s Hamlet. (For more context of the phrase, see To be, or not to be.)

The Blue Sweater is the inspiring personal memoir of a woman who has spent her life on a quest to understand global poverty and to find powerful new ways of tackling it. From her first stumbling efforts as a young idealist venturing forth in Africa to the creation of the trailblazing organization she runs today, Jacqueline Novogratz brings us a series of insightful stories and unforgettable characters — from women dancing in a Nairobi slum, to unwed mothers starting a bakery, to courageous survivors of the Rwandan genocide, to entrepreneurs building services for the poor against impossible odds.

She shows, in ways both hilarious and heartbreaking, how traditional charity often fails, but how a new form of philanthropic investing called “patient capital” can help make people self-sufficient and change millions of lives. More than just an auto-biography or a how-to guide to tackling poverty, this book challenges us to grant dignity to the poor and to rethink our engagement with the world  http://www.thebluesweater.com/
