Nsyght Beta2 – Yahoo BOSS aka the algorithm goes social
Uncategorized
Today we’ve launched our second beta, while the changes may not be readily visible to the naked eye, they represent the biggest single upgrade since our original Alpha launch last Fall.
The biggest and most fundamental change is our integration with Yahoo’s BOSS (not to be confused with THE Boss). What does this mean to you? Quite a lot actually. What we have strived to achieve since day one was to allow users to see a customized search experience based on their social graph. While we achieved that, the size of our index was puny, really really puny. In order to really drive home the value and the power of your social graph, we needed a much larger index. Sadly, as we are bootstrapped, there was no way we could compete on that scale without significant funding.
Enter Yahoo BOSS. It’s a great relationship, they do the hard graft by indexing the web, we can then lounge around and use your “social algorithm” to deliver what we’ve promised, a truly organic and ever-evolving search service based on YOU. Keep checking back as we evolve and improve our integration with this fantastic service.  Nsyght Blog -22 Jul
