This is a beautifully crafted article-For many years I worked as among other things a tripping counselor  in Algonquin Park Ontario-most of the other counselors were from the Province of Ontario  While I was busting my chops at Detroit Country Day School in grade 12 these people were finishing Grade 13 ! Grade 13 a requirement in Ontario was not for the faint of heart ! The Canadian School System is a credit to education ! But we are busy bankrolling

car makers and Pick Pocket Banker’s.  We  need Charter Schools modeled after a system that works, then our kids will learn to write as well as this gentleman ” It is sadly ironic that for so many social media projects, where the focus is supposed to be on communication and conversation, start off with poor communication between business, consultants and IT. Instead of listening to what the other is saying, we tend to listen to our own stereotypes, no matter what role we are playing in a project. “  This guest post comes from John Meadows

  • but grade 13 does not exist anymore...budget cuts? the notion of preparing students for uni was a great one. personally I think its sad it does not exist anymore. though i possess no research to substantiate my thoughts!
  • Kimberly-Ontario had a "Grade 13" known as Ontario Academic Credit (OAC) year, but this was abolished by the provincial government to cut costs. OAC was last offered for the 2002-2003 school year. As a result, the curriculum has been compacted, and the more difficult subjects, such as mathematics, are comparatively harder than before. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Education_in_Canada
