How the newspaper industry tried to invent the Web but failed.-Slate

This came thru on my Tabbloid today !  tabbloid_2009-01-06_0900-1

Currently many news papers In Michigan down to 3 day a week home delivery !  They don’t publish stats on their web site activity and local TV is asking you to go to their unnavigable web sites ! They are all very close to joining General Custer !  The Detroit FreePress http://www.freep.com/ has made attempts at producing a relative Internet site but these people at the top refused to hire Digital Media people who understand the Internet ! They need to buy content from people like Seth Godin http://sethgodin.typepad.com/ and feature their blogs !  The local media has been kept alive in 2008 because of a scandal in the Mayors Office and reporting Detroit Crime! I get more information from one issue of Tabbloid A free service From Hewlett  Packard than a month any Detroit Paper !
